Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

by Willow Bishop
Survival in the Blood Quarter requires three things: razor-sharp steel, a guarded heart, and a strict refusal to bargain with the fae. Lyra, a hardened huntress, has mastered these rules to navigate a realm teeming with vampires, witches, and encroaching demons. Her existence is defined by violence and the desperate hope for freedom, but her world shifts violently when she is rescued from a demonic ambush by Kaden, a dark fae whose lethal charm is matched only by his formidable power.
This gripping dark fantasy romance masterfully weaves the tension of an enemies-to-lovers dynamic with the high stakes of a world on the brink of collapse. As Kaden pulls Lyra into his shimmering, deceptive realm, the lines between monster and savior blur. Forced to confront the hidden truth of her own lineage, Lyra must decide if the connection burning between them is a path to salvation or a carefully orchestrated trap designed for her ruin.
Perfect for fans of slow-burn intensity and morally grey shadow daddies, this story is a relentless journey through betrayal and desire. If you crave paranormal romance where the stakes are life-or-death and the chemistry is explosive, prepare to be haunted by the secrets of The Ravaged Kingdom.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book and what follows is my honest review. Short and sweet: I loved this book and read it in two days. It was a dark, twisty, sexy, and all-around fun read. For readers who love the dark fantasy genre occupied by witches, fae, vampires, and other night creatures: this book is for you. The world-building is evocative yet swift, occurring simultaneously with the action without feeling rushed. Overall, I wouldn’t call the book fast-paced, but it...
