A Demon's Horns: Vice College for Young Demons, Book 1

by Marie Mistry

About this book

Every demon dreads the Showing, a mandatory rite of passage at Vice College that determines their fate and social caste. For Lilith, the ceremony is supposed to be a standard milestone, but instead, it marks her as a degenerate Lust demon. Worse, she defies all biological expectations by sprouting horns—a mythic physical trait that instantly makes her a target for those who fear her power.

Thrust into a cutthroat academy environment, Lilith is suddenly fighting for survival. Her only salvation arrives in the form of a cryptic mandate from the Strange God himself: she must locate and unite seven powerful protectors. As she navigates the elitist halls of Vice College, she discovers that her life is far more dangerous, and her destiny far more complex, than she ever imagined.

This gripping paranormal romance series masterfully blends the high-stakes tension of an academy setting with the sultry heat of a reverse-harem dynamic. If you crave stories filled with forbidden allure, succubus-incubus lore, and slow-burn intrigue, this is the perfect addition to your shelf. Dive into a world where power is a death sentence, and finding the right allies is the only way to survive the darkness.

Holy horns!

December 12, 2019

I enjoyed this book so much that I couldn't put it down, found the sequel (ditto), then read them both all over again. It's hard to pick just a few things that I liked about this book. It was well-written, with a minimum of typos (it's a British author, I'm American, so maybe I just don't know how Brits should place their commas), and an engaging cast of characters. The pacing was fast, but with plenty of descriptions of people and places. The length of the book was longer than most, but...

Whilst I was reading

January 29, 2022

I have come to really dislike the word whilst. It is an unusual word and its used a lot. Like a lot lot. That fact is reflected in the writing in general. The writing doesn't feel polished, its not bad and seems mostly correct, it just feels a little amateur. The plot felt a little shallow. There was a depth of emotional connection that was missing. I didn't know why I would care but the plot was entertaining. The characters were not stellar but not bad. They seemed unique enough to tell them...

Loved it and loved the length...absolutely looking forward to the next book!

With so many academy books flooding the market right now this book was so refreshing and had the length to really allow you to get to know the mc and pull you in to her struggles and daily life. The author did a great job making each of the guys different and with seven of them a huge undertaking. Great job! My only issue with the book besides some minor editing which was easy to overlook was the time skipped around and yet things that are left unresolved went months before that just didn't...

Very interesting

This was pretty good, i should have resd them with british accents in my head and maybe it would have been evern better since they are technically in Britain. A lot of the reviews talked about her being immature- i dont think she was, shes just a college student. But i dont like that her first times with some of the guys have to involve kink, like i feel like thats something you ease into and why are they so kinky its weird. And for a lust demon- suprisingly few spice scenes. And the twist at...

Worth more than 5 stars!

July 12, 2019

Holy cow! I'm very stingy with my five stars but this deserved every one of them. The story line, the depth of the characters, the development of them, the world building is all on point. Nice amount of steam (which is totally believable) and relationship development. It didn't leave unanswered questions that didn't apply to any cliff hangers, at least not for me. And let me just talk about the emotions it evokes, there were times I wanted to cry with one of the characters or get angry. When an...
