Acedia: Shades of Sin, Book 7

by Colette Rhodes

About this book

Iris has spent her entire life hiding in the shadows of the human realm, longing for an escape from a world that never offered her a place to belong. When a mysterious doorway to another dimension opens, she seizes the chance for freedom, unaware that she is stepping into a realm ruled by terrifying, alluring monsters. Her desperate gamble leads her straight to Damen, a prince whose charm and carefree humor mask a hidden depth he has long refused to acknowledge.

Damen is the quintessential unserious royal, preferring the path of least resistance over the heavy burdens of his crown. However, his apathy shifts the moment he encounters Iris. Her resilience in the face of hardship strikes a chord in him, igniting a protective instinct he never knew he possessed. For the first time, Damen finds someone whose opinion matters more than his own comfort, transforming him from a playful prince into a man willing to face any obstacle to secure her safety.

As the epic conclusion to the Shades of Sin series, this paranormal romance blends high-stakes monster tropes with the heartfelt journey of two souls finding home in each other. It is the perfect finale for fans of character-driven demon romances.

🫅🏻Damen & Iris & Tilly 🐕‍🦺

GAHH, I can't believe it's over. This series boo my expectations through the roof when I started it!! I honestly just started this because I was in the mood for a monster romance, but I am someone that has to have plot and loving and this was the series that popped up when I googled \"Monster Romance with Good Plot\" .. So I figured I'd give the first book a try and if I liked it I would maybe read one or two more. I had no idea that I would literally fall in love with this series and all of...

Blind Sheltered FMC and Charming Unserious MMC

January 3, 2025

There was a bit of inconsistency in this book as far as when Iris was no longer hidden from the visiting Hunters (Sebastian and Cora) as it said she had met them, then that they didn’t know she was there, then she had met them again. It didn’t cause too much confusion but a reader who’s paying attention might notice it. Aside from that, the disability representation was good, though it may have glossed over the problems someone would experience from a disability even with a caring partner as...

This is a sweet and endearing conclusion to the series. Although listed as standalones, the books are highly interconnected and make more sense when read in order. While the timeline jumps between stories, major plot developments unfold sequentially. The thematic sin for this book is acedia, also known as sloth or apathy. The MMC is Damen, the charming but apathetic shade prince we’ve seen in previous books, while the FMC is Iris, a sweet and blind ex-hunter, accompanied by her dog Tilly. The...

Finally, The series is over

This book started off strong with Damen bring my most anticipated MMC but unfortunately took a nose dive about 50 pages in. Spoilers from here on out, so beware. I had a love hate relationship with Iris’s character, mainly because it really seemed like the author couldn’t decide if she was meek and sweet or hardcore deviant for the monsters. She was described as basically never been touched (and is blind) but yet is super willing and desperate for tendril action? She was describes as a v*rgin...
