Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by Leah Ryan
When the man she loves faces certain death, Adraya makes the ultimate sacrifice: she summons a demon and barters her soul to save him. But the entity that answers her call is far more dangerous than she bargained for. Azzaron, the arrogant and cold-blooded ruler of the twilight realm, doesn’t just collect souls—he commands them. Instead of claiming his prize, the Demon King finds himself inexplicably captivated by the woman who dares to defy his shadows.
Bound to his obsidian fortress in a realm defined by eternal damnation, Adraya discovers that survival requires more than just grit. This dark fantasy romance masterfully weaves high-stakes tension with sharp, witty banter that keeps the power dynamic constantly shifting. Far from a damsel in distress, Adraya is a resilient heroine who refuses to be broken, forcing the ruthless demon king to confront a hunger he never expected to feel.
If you crave a paranormal romance where hope illuminates the darkest corners of hell, this standalone novel is your next obsession. It is a seductive tale of forbidden desire, where the line between salvation and damnation blurs. Prepare to be consumed by a love story that proves even the most wicked hearts can fall.

I’m tired of reading about whiny girls who are afraid of everything, so this was a nice change. MFC was a joy, slightly annoying at some parts but once she found her confidence again it was great. I could really picture everything perfectly, really well written. )

The writing was touching, I enjoyed the sentiment and I liked the characters. I don't know if there was an issue with the editing or just the writing, but there were a few pages that took me out of the fantasy. It is in a scene right after a riding scene (or maybe my perception was wrong) , where she was riding an animal and it was so natural that it was done without thought. Then not a few pages later she's never ridden before and is taught to ride and then gains confidence. I personally think...

We do i start….. Overall this book was a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. The witty banter is written differently. I love the smart talking between our two man characters. It’s definitely a different dialogue i’m not use to…the WHOLE book is sarcastic. They both are pure comedians. I wish there were MORE spice/smut, and more detail🥵. Smut/Slice 1.5 🌶️ other than that it’s good!!! alil slow burn read too )

I enjoyed the premise of this book and the underlying story that was trying to be told. It was difficult to understand at times because there were contradictory chapters that seemed to have been accidentally left in during the editing process. Re-edit this story and it has potential to be a seriously good short short. )
