Night has always been more honest than day\" While early in this book, this quote hit hard. So many of us feel the truth lies in the light, the day. But no, the truth lies in the shadows, in the dark when nobody is watching. Who has your back then? Who will protect you from whatever goes bump in the night? Do you want to be saved or do you want to become 1 with the shadows? Kane was promised a descendant years ago. Amara was always told she would find her powers when she needed them....

This is a short, Dark Romantasy with some spice, magic, a sinful shadow daddy who most definitely falls first, what a shame, and then there's Amara, who at first seems a bit mousy until she meets her shadow daddy. One of my favorite quotes from the book is as follows: \"Mardi Gras is for the Living, Lent is for the Listening.\" There are many great quotes in this book, but this one I like because it reminds us of spiritual grounding and reflections, and many of us forget about this. I love this...

This story follows Amara on her journey to reconnect with a past her grandmother left behind. She is to find the secrets that were kept from her, to find the power within. On her journey of rediscovery, she meets Kane. A delicious being, weilder of the dark. Kane is there for one thing, to cash in on what was promised to him long ago.
