Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

by Brenda K. Davies
Haunted by childhood visions of a creeping, lethal darkness, Bale has spent her life bracing for a demise she thought was inevitable. But when her path collides with Wrath, the terrifying Horseman of the Apocalypse, she realizes her true threat isn’t the shadows—it is the man marked as her mate. Driven by a burning desire for vengeance, Bale vows to drag Wrath into the abyss with her, setting the stage for a volatile enemies-to-lovers collision that crackles with lethal intensity.
Wrath never expected to find his Chosen in a defiant, red-haired paliton, nor did he anticipate the consuming obsession she would ignite within him. As he fights to force her submission, a sudden, catastrophic shift in their reality leaves them both vulnerable, forcing the ultimate bad boy to confront a truth he never wanted to face. Amidst the carnage of the hell realms, their mutual hatred begins to fracture, giving way to a dangerous, undeniable passion that could shatter them both.
This high-stakes conclusion to the Road to Hell series is a masterclass in paranormal romance. Packed with found-family loyalty, visceral action, and the slow-burn redemption of a monster, it is the perfect finale for fans of dark, gritty supernatural tales.

It was a fun read. Much of it took me by surprise. The books were full of suspense and action, friendship and love. ) One person found this helpful

What a fantastic finale to the Hell on Earth (and Road to Hell) series! This last installment has it all: enemies to lovers, the ultimate bad boy (I mean, can you get much worse than the Horseman Wrath?) and a redemption arc (for several characters) which left me feeling all warm & fuzzy. Bring a chosen mate trope, we know Bale & Wrath are destined for each other, but the internal struggle Bale endures as her body and brain war with each other created a delectable frisson I know I’ll want to...

Bale became a much more interesting character in this book than I had expected. Very good redemption story for Wrath too. Great series that I'm sorry to see end. )

Many tense moments, and few sad moments, and definitely a great read. This is a series that you don't want to end, and I am sad it has. )

Wonderful series. Complex characters, lots of conflict but also lots of love & sexy scenes. Not for the faint of heart, definitely recommend. )
