Her 13th Hour (Monstrous Short Tales)

by YD La Mar

About this book

Some childhood memories are not meant to fade; they are etched into the soul, waiting for the right moment to resurface. For Brody, the legend of the Jersey Devil was never just a local myth. It was a terrifying reality that haunted her since she was five years old, the night a demonic intruder shattered her innocence and changed her life forever. Years later, she has built a quiet, ordinary existence, but the shadows of her past are clawing their way back into the light.

When she finally crosses paths with the beast again, the power dynamic shifts in a dark, unexpected way. This time, she is not the terrified child hiding in the basement; she is the one standing over the monster. As the lines between human morality and primal obsession blur, Brody must confront the truth about why she has never been able to let go.

Perfect for fans of gritty paranormal romance, this story dives deep into the tension between the mundane and the monstrous. If you are looking for a steamy, grey-toned tale featuring an unapologetically inhuman hero who would gladly bring you the heads of your enemies, the thirteenth hour is tolling. Will Brody sacrifice her world for the beast who has claimed her heart?

Short, Grey and Steamy

I really enjoyed this short story. I can always dig a \"I'll bring you the heads of your enemies\" type MMC. Especially one so completely inhuman and untethered from human morals or goals. Really my only complaint is I wish we got a closer glimpse into the MCs lives with each other, but such is the nature of short stories. Short, dark grey, spicy read. Check triggers, but if those don't deter you, I strongly suggest you pick up this bad boy for a couple hours and give it a read. )
