Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by Lacey Lehotzky
The war for the demon realm has evolved from a struggle for survival into a fight for the soul of an empire. Assyria, once a captive of the brutal war camps, has risen as the Imposter, a symbol of defiance that threatens the ancient order. As she stands by Rokath’s side, the fragile alliance between them is tested by political betrayal, ancient feuds, and the looming threat of an angelic invasion that promises to burn their world to ash.
This dark fantasy romance masterfully weaves high-stakes political maneuvering with a volatile enemies-to-lovers dynamic. The tension between the vicious, dangerous Rokath and the fiery, resilient Assyria is palpable, fueled by sharp banter and a bond forged in the fires of conflict. It is a world where love does not offer comfort; instead, it hunts, forcing these two leaders to evolve from mere partners into the legends their people desperately need.
For readers craving a gritty, atmospheric paranormal romance, this story delivers a complex magic system and a compelling exploration of female power rising against systemic oppression. While the stakes are higher than ever, the core of the narrative remains the intense, dark romance between two souls destined to ignite a revolution.

The story of the Halalhivo is a fascinating one. Lacey Lehotzky melds an intricate magic system with the political dealings of Angels and Demons and the expected outcome? Not likely. Full of gruesome scenery, spicy romance, and plenty of twists and turns along the way, this duology captured my imagination in a whole new way. ) One person found this helpful

So far I read the demon story so that 2 out of 4 and I enjoyed them. I actually like this one more and I think it had to do with all the women power and women rising and being the important. The bond between the Fmc and mmc was very spicy and loving and I felt it for them lol. I haven’t decided if I want to read the angel side but I’m curious to see if it’s angel and angel or is it the angel demon mates in this book. But I feel like you can give this a chance )

This sequel took a sharp nose dive compared to the first book. I understand the author is trying to achieve a bigger over arching plot, however I don’t think she succeeded. There are plot holes galore. The ending was so wrapped so fast I had to re-read it. It feels like there is a whole chapter or more missing. The spice scenes were cut and paste of each other and kind of gave me the ick. The inner monologues of the main characters were also incredibly repetitive. I do not see myself continuing...

I went straight from Eyes of Devious Burgundy into this and I was extremely satisfied. This duet is part of a larger series so I will start this by saying it hangs on a huge cliff hanger but it closes out the FMC and the MMCs relationship which I was happy with. Our FMC continues her character arc and grows stronger and more sure of her self while our MMC is looking further into himself and coming to terms he’s not just a hollow killing machine. The spice stays spicy but i definitely feel like...
