How Not to Date an Angel (Cautionary Tails Book 4)

by Lana Kole

About this book

Rami is an angel whose boundless compassion knows no limits, but even they are caught off guard when a battered, mysterious stranger collapses on their doorstep. Julian is a demon from the hell-realms, sent with a singular, treacherous mission: to tempt the angel and secure his own freedom. What begins as a calculated seduction quickly spirals into a journey of discovery as Julian experiences the simple, intoxicating joys of Earth—from sweet coffee to the softest touch—all guided by the gentle, genderfluid Rami.

This installment of the Cautionary Tails series masterfully blends the high-stakes intensity of succubus and incubus folklore with a deeply tender romcom heart. As the lines between duty and desire blur, the two find themselves crossing boundaries they never thought possible. Their chemistry is undeniable, fueled by the classic tropes of forbidden supernatural attraction and spicy, high-heat encounters that keep the pages turning.

Beyond the scorching romance, this story is a poignant exploration of what it truly means to be human. As Julian realizes that his mission has led him to the one thing he didn’t know he needed, the couple must face the consequences of a love that defies Heaven and Hell alike. It is a swoon-worthy, heartfelt must-read for anyone craving a unique paranormal romance.

I swooned

They're an angel. He's a demon sent to tempt them. I expected an enemies to lovers with lots of really good spice (because Lana Kole does it well). And I got all of that. What I wasn't expecting was the way my heart absolutely melted for these two. Rami and Julian both need to be wrapped in warm hugs. They way they are SO SOFT for each other was so pure and so lovely. Any book that can make me laugh and swoon with the characters is an absolute win. This is my favorite in the series by far....

Loved the swapping IYKWIM 😉

I am really enjoying this series of different supernatural creatures and them finding love (sometimes in unconventional ways haha). I thought Rami was precious, the inexperience was endearing and I liked that Julian called them out on some of their naivety in a funny way. I thought the chemistry between the two was fabulous and I thought even if it was started off on a lie, it was genuine and blossomed beautifully between them. I felt for both of these characters for the loneliness they both...

Lovely Read

This was a sweet love story. It had probably the very best take on Angels essentially being genderless I have ever herd of in books or tv. Both of the main characters POV are written so well and you really connect with each of their personalities. The spice is spicy! It doesn't happen until the last half of the book and that's a great thing in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love. Even though this story takes place over only a week, it goes into great detail to show the characters...

Sooo good

When angel Rami finds wounded demon, Julian on their doorstep, they hurry to help him. What follows is a cute back and forth between the two. A grumpy/sunshine your gonna eat up. They learn the lines between what's right and wrong are thinner than they thought and that, in love, support comes from the most unlikely of places. I love these types of feel good stories. )

Such a good continuation of the series!

Julian and Rami were so fun to read as a couple and I loved learning the lore about angels and demons in this world. I also appreciated the way religion was handled in this book as well. It was comforting since it paralleled some of my own experiences, but not in a traumatic way. )
