Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by Trista Ricketts
Officer Kelly Charles just wanted a reliable K-9 partner to help navigate the gritty streets of her beat. What she got instead was Malachi, a canine who growls in dead languages, treats holy water like an insult, and possesses an ego far too large for his furry frame. It turns out that adopting a shelter dog is rarely straightforward when the animal in question is actually a centuries-old demon trapped in a canine body, plotting world domination from the passenger seat of a squad car.
This paranormal romantic comedy masterfully blends lighthearted humor with a high-stakes supernatural mystery. As Chuck struggles with bad coffee and her mysterious, unawakened angelic heritage, she remains blissfully unaware that her partner is judging her soul. When a meddling witch restores Malachi to his true form, the story shifts into a thrilling, celestial disaster that forces them into an unlikely alliance.
If you enjoy the sharp, witty banter of Lucifer, this book delivers a perfect mix of grit and charm. It is a slow-burn romance that thrives on found-family dynamics and the chaotic tension of forbidden attraction. Will Chuck banish the demon, or will she fall for the one creature never meant to have a heart?

My daughter suggested I read this book. Her brief synopsis had me interested but it was Amazon's synopsis that drew me in. I do not read paranormal books normally. My genre is Regency Romance. I found this book an absolute joy to read. From page one to the end, it was hard to put down. I will follow this author. ) One person found this helpful

I really wanted to love this because it sounded good but I just couldn't get into it and it took me longer than it should of to finish it.. don't get me wrong it was kind of cute and I liked it but I didn't love it.. Chuck and Malachi felt awkward and I just didn't feel a strong connection.. and he tells her he can't say or feel certain things and then he's gets all butt hurt later when she thinks he can't say or feel a certain way when he literally told her that! And even at the end he still...

Really this was a 2.5 for me. I liked that she wrote it from his perspective and I thought the premise was really cute. But that’s where it ended for me. I skipped to the end. The Who dun it was predictable but what made it 2.5 for me was the repetition of how much he loved her and wanted to be with her and protect her. The hummer was cute til it wasn’t. It was just cheesy. All in all it was a fluffy piece and I know lots of people like the lighter side of romance. But I like my characters to...
