Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by Emily Antoinette
A lonely, D&D-obsessed witch finds his quiet life turned upside down when a routine coven meeting spirals into an accidental demon summoning. Instead of a horrific ritual, he finds himself face-to-face with a trapped succubus. Rather than letting her be exploited by cultists, he makes a daring choice to set her free, sparking an unlikely connection that defies all his expectations.
What follows is an irresistible blend of cozy vibes and high-heat passion. As an older, confident succubus who has seen it all, she is instantly drawn to her awkward, cinnamon-roll savior. She is tired of being used for her powers, and he is a man who treats her with a genuine kindness she has never known. Together, they navigate a world of supernatural charm, proving that even a demon can find a home in a soft, earnest heart.
This paranormal romance is the perfect pick for readers who crave found-family dynamics and the sweet tension of an older woman/younger man pairing. Set against a nostalgic 1980s backdrop, this steamy novella delivers exactly the right balance of spicy succubus-incubus dynamics and heartfelt sweetness. If you are looking for a quick, enchanting escape, this monster romance is your next must-read.

5/5 ⭐ 4/5 🌶️ ## Tropes - Older Woman/Younger Man - Cinammon Roll MMC - Soft Domme Succubus FMC - DnD Nerds - Being so socially awkward you accidentally join a sex cult ## 📖 My Thoughts I will never get over the soft domme/cinnamon roll simp trope. Never. You can try to pry it from my cold stiff fingers once I die and even then, I hear the afterlife is boring so I’m going to need books like this. This was everything it promised to be and everything I wanted. There was comedy, there was...

This was really fun and sweet, if a bit lacking in depth for me. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that this was such a sweet and fluffy romance with two very sweet queer characters falling in love. But I kind of wish there was something a bit more going on besides the fluff. This was cute though, so it’s getting 3.75 stars! ) One person found this helpful

Even though Afterglow can be read as a standalone, I wanted to make sure I had the full experience before I dived into it. So when I got the ARC of Afterglow, I immediately purchased Maneater and Behold Her. These books had been on my TBR for a while anyways and I was so excited to finally dive into the delicious rabbit hole that I have heard so much praise (wink wink) about. And can we talk about the amazing writing? \"Clothes don't matter. Underneath, we're all the same. Just bodies...

This was an easy read so I appreciate that. There were redundancies throughout the book, however. Like the line where she said that Shane was \"ever the gentleman, even after all these years\". That phrase had literally been used in a couple of paragraphs before. \"Even after all these years.\" ) One person found this helpful

When you have a soft fem succubus, a sweet and nerdy witch who has never been with anyone and they meet because of a spicy cult gone wrong, you just know it's going to be such a lovely story! I adored this and I had so much fun reading. The 80's setup is so whimsical but it doesn't take over (the perfect backdrop). The positivity and queer representation are so good too! I also really enjoy how slow-burn this is in a way, even though it's very spicy. The way Elle is so patient with Shane and...
