Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)

by Robyn Peterman
Turning forty was never supposed to be this lethal. For those who love a paranormal romp that balances high-stakes demon drama with laugh-out-loud antics, this thirteenth installment of the Good to the Last Death series is your next obsession. Our heroine is juggling the impossible: phantom funerals, a chaotic drag queen wedding, and a direct threat from the Higher Power targeting her daughter. When the dead start showing up on her porch with unfinished business, it is clear that midlife is less about self-discovery and more about supernatural survival.
This series hits the sweet spot for fans of enemies-to-lovers tropes, where the tension between characters is just as sharp as the stakes of the battle. Watching our protagonist navigate shifting alliances with former foes—while relying on a cast of profane ghosts and an immortal partner—keeps the narrative pace breathless. Robyn Peterman masterfully blends raw emotional stakes with a side-splitting, irreverent sense of humor that makes every page feel like a wild ride.
Whether you are here for the demonic world-building or the messy, magnetic romance, this story delivers a perfect blend of angst and hilarity. Grab a glass of wine and prepare for a journey that proves even the afterlife is never quite as dead as it seems.

This book was crazy, wild, unbelievable, rolling on the floor laughing funny, suspenseful and even a bit sad every so often. I loved every single page of it. The new characters get more wildly imaginative, yet fascinating and most we fall in love with. As far as character development read the previous 12 books so you can get a clear picture from the beginning. Then as this series progresses you can see the characters evolve. As for the recently introduced characters in this book well lets just...

I love Ms. Peterman's books! She writes such interesting stories about the paranormal world. Always full of love, but with challenges along the way. And I especially love her sense of humor. I always can't wait for her next book to come out. You won't be sorry to buy any of her books. ) One person found this helpful

This series is so fun to read because of the ridiculousness of it. Candy Vargo makes this particular story. There's angst, laughter, surprises, craziness, and a complete story with a massive hook for the next book. Three is a magical number and I love the way the meaning for it is revealed. )

OMG! This series, this series! I am BEYOND hooked on this storyline! This has been one of the funniest, freakiest, disgustingly beautiful series I have read to date. If you want to be taken on the ride, grab Book 1, and buckle-up, Buttercup! You're in for one filth-flarn-filth of a ride! Hang on tight & enjoy! 😁 ) One person found this helpful

I have never laughed as much as I did for this story! Add in Alana Catherine's new powers and abilities and a new character who is funny as all get out and you have a hit. All the absolutely wonderful characters love each other so much, you might be laughing and crying at the same time. And Daisy's fantastic story continues. )
