Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by SJ Sanders
Step into the neon-soaked nostalgia of the 1980s, where Hellscape Mall hides a portal to something far more sinister than bad fashion. Pashar, a nightmare demon currently on a well-deserved sabbatical, spends his days running Darkspell Comics. He isn't interested in world domination; he just wants to manage his shop, keep his carnivorous demonic plant, Chewy, from snacking on the patrons, and distribute curated nightmares to those who crave them. It is a quiet, wicked existence until an unexpected human breaks in after-hours, turning his solitary vacation into a dangerous game of obsession.
This urban fantasy novella masterfully blends dark humor with a paranormal romance that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly unique. As Pashar attempts to claim his new human prize while dodging the crushing weight of infernal bureaucracy and a persistent rival, the stakes rise with every page. It is a perfect pick for readers who love hell-realm settings and the "monster romance" trope, offering a delicious balance of spice and genuine narrative substance.
Whether you are looking for a quick, adventurous escape or a quirky supernatural romp, this story delivers. SJ Sanders weaves a tale that is as funny as it is seductive, proving that sometimes the best nightmares are the ones you never want to wake up from.

Very cute little story! I love the fact that she puts a story with spice because sometimes spicy books are a lot of spice and a little bit of story. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I like a good story too! ) One person found this helpful

I don't think I've read a book by SJ Sanders that I didn't love. And this book is no different. The story building and slow burn romance was captivating from cover to cover. This world is one I didn't want to leave and have been happy for another 100 pages or more! I do hope the author returns to tell more stories of the different monsters hold up in Death Canyon City ) One person found this helpful
