Crown Me Dead: A Dark Fantasy Romance (Heartstring Duet)
Liv Zander
by Stephanie Hudson
Arianna thought escaping the clutches of a sinister cult meant freedom, but she soon discovers that her nightmare is only beginning. After being rescued by a mysterious, winged savior named Vincent Draven, she is thrust into an underground realm teeming with demons, vampires, and ancient secrets. As she navigates this dangerous new reality, she realizes that Vincent is not merely a protector; he is a man who has been waiting lifetimes for her return.
This dark paranormal romance masterfully blends historical allure with supernatural stakes. The magnetic pull between the alpha-hero and his long-lost love is as intense as it is forbidden. As Arianna experiences haunting visions of past centuries, she uncovers the truth: their bond is not a new romance, but an ancient, soul-deep connection. Their love, however, is tethered to a devastating curse that threatens to destroy them both just as they have finally found one another.
Fans of epic, high-stakes romance will be drawn into the twists and turns of this gripping series opener. With its blend of atmospheric historical elements and pulse-pounding supernatural tension, this story offers the perfect escape for readers craving a dark, addictive obsession that spans the ages.

I gave this book five stars because I really liked it. This is really Ari's story and it should be because we didn't get her finish in the Afterlife series. I feel this book should have been followed, in its entirety, directly after the last book of the Afterlife series. The next series, Transfusion, starts with a big jump in time. Keira's daughter is 27 years old. There are a few characters whose stories in Afterlife were left in limbo, such as Pythia, Jack, Seth and RJ. My biggest justified...

My main genre of reading is historical fiction, although after weeks of super heavy reading I like to take a break and read something I consider “fun”, a book where I can simply just read it without feeling the need to set it aside while I pick up my laptop excitedly learning about any tiny detail I may not know about from the section of history I’m reading. I had the Afterlife book one in my library for a year, and figured “why not?” Push ahead to reading, with a complete obsession, the 12...

Vincent's Immortal Curse, Kings of Afterlife book 1 by Stephanie Hudson finally let's us inside Vincent and Ari's story. It's full of twist and turns, ups and downs and love and heartache. I have it 4 stars only because the story seemed to drag on for too long before finally getting to the point. The point was worth the wait though. I can't wait to see what happens next as it ended on a cliffhanger. ) One person found this helpful

Love the new cover. I already own this but had to jump on the chance of getting Vincent in all his glory. Especially since we get Ari’s book in a few months. This is a spin off of the Afterlife series and about Draven’s brother. I would definitely read that series first. 5 stars )

I read all of afterlife and was interested in learning more of Vincent and Ari's story, I didn't realize however that this wasn't a finished book or I would have waited to read it and started lucius first. Overall I think it was a good read, a little slow in spots and some seem repetitive but I enjoyed it. )
