Warlock in Training: mm demon fantasy romance (Studies in Demonology Book 1)

by TJ Nichols

About this book

Angus Donohue is a reluctant heir to a legacy he despises. Born into a prestigious family of warlocks, he finds the practice of draining demons for power morally reprehensible. His plan to escape this life is simple: fail his summonings and get expelled from the elite Warlock College. But when a botched ritual goes wrong, he accidentally binds himself to Saka, a powerful demon with an agenda that threatens to shatter everything Angus knows about the divide between worlds.

Saka is not the mindless tool the College expects. He is a mage with a desperate mission to restore balance to the dying realm of Demonside, and he needs Angus to help him pull it off. As the two are drawn into a forbidden alliance, they must navigate a treacherous landscape of academy politics and ancient magical stakes. The chemistry between them is as volatile as the magic they wield, forcing Angus to decide if he will remain a pawn of his father’s cruel traditions or embrace a dangerous, uncharted path.

This gripping urban fantasy delivers a high-stakes romance filled with moral ambiguity and hidden realms. If you crave stories featuring reluctant heroes, intense demon deals, and forbidden love, this series opener is your next obsession.

Great worldbuilding and an MC to root for

February 23, 2018

I enjoyed reading this book immensely. I honestly saw this book a while ago and while the premise was very intriguing I worried the book was going to be lacking in plot or worldbuilding and be more focused on the sexual aspect of magic creation, so I didn't try it out. Fast forward a few months and I found myself thinking about the premise and decided I would give it a shot. And I'm glad I did. Though I don't know what sort of government rules Vinland or the rest of the modern magical world in...

Very Good

I really enjoyed this book. I actually hate that I read it when I did. I wish I'd waited until the series was complete because I have no idea when the next book will be out and I can't wait. This book actually had some pretty good character development, doe the main characters at least. I understand their motivation. There are plenty of \"bad guys\" but we really only meet one and he is so bad as to rise to the level of ridiculous. I mean, he's a sociopath. That just makes him evil, not even...

A fantastic start to series

Warlock in Training is the first book in the Studies in Demonology series by TJ Nichols. Fantastic world building, with vivid descriptions that make it possible to see the world written within these pages. There is also an interesting plot that captures interest and keeps it. The main characters are Angus and Saka. Angus is an earthbound warlock who would rather be a doctor or something, anything, other than a warlock. Instead of failing his demon summoning class as he secretly planned, he...

Buying the series cause I loved it

Highly recommend this book if you’re into paranormal romance!I’m not a huge fan of certain things in stories which is mainly blood or gore. However when you’re reading about demons it’s apparently a thing. Still, it was also described in a way that didn’t trigger me or cause my mind suffering. I found what I was looking for in a brief read. A steamy paranormal romance that indeed had a plot. Looking forward to next book as I’ve already purchased it. This was good literature :) worthy of your...
