When a young boy begins singing haunting lyrics taught to him by an invisible friend, it becomes clear that something sinister is lurking in the shadows. Mary O’Reilly, the psychic investigator who has become a beloved fixture in the lives of her readers, finds herself pulled into a darker mystery than she has faced before. As she investigates the origins of the chilling song, she must peel back the layers of a tragic past to protect the innocent from a lingering, vengeful spirit.
This thirteenth installment of the paranormal mystery series masterfully balances suspense with the warmth of the found-family dynamic that fans have come to cherish. While the investigation takes a turn toward the macabre, the emotional core remains firmly rooted in the bonds between Mary and her close-knit circle. The slow-burn tension between characters adds a layer of depth to the supernatural proceedings, creating a narrative that is as heart-wrenching as it is gripping.
Terri Reid once again proves why she is a master of the genre, weaving a tale that is impossible to put down. Whether you are a longtime devotee of the O’Reilly chronicles or a newcomer seeking a haunting, character-driven mystery, this story offers the perfect blend of ghosts, romance, and chills to keep you reading deep into the night.

Terri Reid is one of the best storytellers I've read. There is just one problem. The book ends! I get so immersed in the story and feel like part of it. These are MY people too, and I love and care for every one of them. The relationships she builds between the characters is so real and heartwarming. When she describes Bradley looking at Mary, I feel all the love, caring, and yes, many times worry. Clarissa and the Brennan clan add a lot and it is good to see Clarissa coming out of her shell and...

As always this was another great book. Lots of suspense, humor and romance. The characters are perfect. I love these books and haven't missed any. You are missing something great if you haven't read any of these books. You will want to start with the first on and go from there as there is a continuing story line. Although each is an individual complete story. Thanks Terri Reid for this great series! )

I love this series and enjoy the characters. I can easily see this turned into a tv series. Hopefully it will! This book is a darker than your typical O'Reilley novel but shines a light in the darkness about a despicable practice happening even here in the United States called rehoming. Til we meet again Rosie, Stanley, Mike, Ian, Bradley and Mary! :-) )

I'm halfway through the series and its wonderful. You bring issues into the story that the pub!iic needs to address. Child abduction and amber alerts. Good job! )

I have that Ms. Reid is an excellent author. Her ability to tie in real life situations into her works of fiction is amazing. Not only is she telling a great story, she is shedding light on things that go on in real life. Her re-homing theme in this book is horrorific - to think people just re-home children almost like re-gifting a present is unthinkable. Her abilty to address this issue and share it while also spinning her special story line is amazing. When I first finished the book, before...
