by Maggie I. Fields
Riley is a medium who has spent her entire life labeled an outcast, forced to navigate a world only she can see. When a personal tragedy upends her life, she is thrust into an uncomfortable new reality, moving in with an estranged family before starting college. But her fresh start takes a supernatural turn when she encounters Asher, the ghost of her stepbrother’s friend. Unlike the restless spirits she is used to, Asher is different, and the mystery surrounding his existence creates an undeniable, magnetic pull between them.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends the high-stakes tension of an academy setting with the ache of a forbidden love story. Bound by the rules of the spirit world, Riley knows she should keep her distance, yet the slow-burn connection between her and Asher proves impossible to resist. As they race to uncover the truth about his past, she realizes that helping him move on might mean losing the only person who truly understands her.
Perfect for fans of emotional, character-driven narratives, this story explores the thin line between life and death. If you are looking for a hauntingly beautiful romance that will leave you in your feelings, look no further than this captivating series opener.

I loved this book so much! I have read many of Maggie's books and this is by far one of my favorites! I love Riley's character and the way the story unravels. Looking forward to reading Catching My Dreams! )

This paranormal romance book was great and had me in my feels. Riley and her dad had me sobbing, but it was great to see her grow and find a HEA. Loved her stepdad and brother, her mother and sister were okay, I see why they acted the way they did. The book started off perfect and was very engaging, but towards the end, I feel like the story was hijacked by Ella’s storyline. Personally I think it should have just focused on our two main characters, but the fact that our first spicy scene...

This story honestly wasn't that bad, the writing was good and the plot was decent. I'm not a huge fan of romance books with teens as the mc's especially when their personalities come off as very immature and their are smut scenes involved. Also the thing with her mom, there was no real turning point because from what I read at the beginning what her mom did was not out of love at all and being mentally unstable for whatever reason doesn't excuse the actions so for her to just forgive her...

Competently written, although the dialogue sometimes felt a bit campy with one liners and jokes. Riley is a great character. The romance and the sex scenes were okay. Most of it is at the end. Lots of young adult (19-20) angst. The paranormal stuff was fairly tame. Not really much of a magic system. Overall it was easy to read and flowed well. Well done😊 )
