Nineteen-year-old Kassidy Bell is desperate. With her bank account empty and options dwindling, a mysterious newspaper advertisement for a high-paying clinical drug trial feels like a stroke of divine luck. However, the promise of easy money quickly dissolves into a waking nightmare. As the experimental substance courses through her veins, the sterile laboratory transforms into a gateway for the unexplained, leaving Kassidy trapped between terrifying hallucinations and a haunting reality she cannot escape.
This gripping debut by Lynda O'Rourke masterfully blends psychological horror with chilling paranormal suspense. As Kassidy struggles to discern the living from the dead, she realizes the trial has unlocked a terrifying new perception. The boundary between our world and the afterlife has blurred, turning her into a vessel for spectral encounters she is ill-equipped to handle.
For readers seeking a haunting paranormal thrill, this story delivers a relentless pace and an atmosphere thick with dread. The true terror hits home when Kassidy discovers that the most dangerous presence in her life isn't lurking in the shadows of the lab, but festering within her own skin. If you love stories where the supernatural bleeds into reality, prepare yourself for a journey you won't soon forget.

Let me start off by saying that I NEVER leave book reviews....I can easily breeze through a book a day some times more than that. I have been reading books one after the other for as long as I can remember . This series is one of those stories that you only come across every once in a while...a truly great book written by a truly talented author. I picked up this book a couple of moths ago and from chapter one I knew I would be unable to put it down. This has everything in a paranormal...

I was blown away by how good this book was and nothing like I thought it was going to be after reading the blurb. I really liked Kassidy and she seemed very quiet and unassuming in the beginning but started to assert herself more as the story progressed. The bond between the volunteers was certainly tested in more ways than one and the intrigue kept me turning the pages for most of Sunday afternoon. Never a dull minute and you could actually feel how creepy and disturbing the hospital was let...

Kassidy's had some bad luck... She's lost her job after recently losing her father. Drowning in debt, she signs up for a drug study with a high payout, hoping it will get her back on her feet. From the very start she has a bad feeling about it which, of course, she ignores. Even when she decides she shouldn't go through with it because things are just too creepy, she allows herself to get talked into staying by some surfer looking handsome guy named Jude. At this point, even though I think...

Holy first novel Batman! Lynda, sweet Lynda. Are you kidding me right now? I DEVOURED this book, starting last night, and making myself put it down at 11 pm so I could try to get some sleep. But as I lay there trying to drift off, all I could think was \"just one more chapter, just one more won't hurt...\" Yeah cause one turns into five pretty quick like. After reading DRUG, you would never guess that this is the authors first published novel. I can only imagine the keyboards the O'Rourke...
