Secrets buried for centuries are clawing their way to the surface at Freak House, threatening to dismantle the fragile lives of those within its walls. As Charity and Samuel race to uncover the truth behind a series of mysterious disappearances dating back to 1867, they find themselves entangled in a web of ancient spells and lethal deceptions. With a centuries-old ghost acting as their only guide, the line between the living and the dead begins to blur, forcing them to confront a past that refuses to stay forgotten.
This gripping conclusion to the second trilogy serves as a masterclass in paranormal romance, blending high-stakes mystery with the raw ache of unrequited longing. As the investigation deepens, Charity pushes Samuel away, leaving him teetering on the edge of sanity. Their emotional struggle is just as dangerous as the spirits haunting the estate, making every turn of the page feel like a desperate gamble for love and survival.
Perfect for fans of atmospheric ghost stories and intricate gothic mysteries, this book delivers a hauntingly beautiful finale that refuses to let go. If you are looking for a supernatural read filled with unexpected twists and deep, lingering heartache, step inside Freak House and discover the price of the truth.

A good ending to this installment of the Freak House Trilogies. We know more intrigue will ensue in future books....and I miss Bollard too....and there is much to look forward to. The mystery of the ruins remains and Myers...what's up with that evil dude... as well as needing some resolution of Sylvia and Tommy's relationship. I like Cara is being given a prominent place in the storyline and look forward to seeing her gift further legitimized as she is as smart as she is sweet. It's telling...

This is more of a YA book series. (Yound Adult) Let me begin by saying I came across one of C.J. Archer's books while looking for bargains. Wow! What a great find! Instantly fell in love with her writing style and her stories. Very different from what I'm use to reading; her skill to keeping the story engaging, interesting and intriguing is one of the best I've seen in a while. Now, back to the main review... this book was a great ending to the 2nd Freak House Trilogy. Besides wishing Mrs....

The heroine is unconventional and rebellious, but her mindset is that of a woman of her time. This makes the story believable and entertaining. She is human, yet aspires to be more than a slave to her passions. Archer's character development is fascinating, and her captivating writing picks up a nice time and pace in this novel. )
