From the Ashes: Ministry of Curiosities, Book 6

by Shiromi Arserio

About this book

Returning to the fog-drenched streets of Lichfield, Charlie finds her world in total disarray. With the elusive killer still at large and the unsettling arrival of Lady Vickers, the stakes have never been higher. The disappearance of Seth and Gus leaves a void that only intensifies the pressure, forcing Charlie to navigate a web of betrayal where even the most trusted committee members hide dark, long-buried secrets.

For fans of paranormal romance, this installment masterfully balances heart-pounding tension with the slow-burn dynamic between Charlie and Lincoln. Their relationship remains the series' anchor, defined by sharp-witted clashes and a deep-seated connection that thrives despite the chaos. You will find no excessive sentimentality here; instead, the narrative prioritizes a gritty, atmospheric mystery that keeps the focus on the high-stakes investigation and the undeniable chemistry between two partners who are better together than apart.

As danger eventually breaches the walls of her own home, Charlie is forced to confront a reality that threatens to shatter everything she has fought to protect. This sixth entry in the Ministry of Curiosities series delivers a complex, tightly woven plot that rewards loyal readers while introducing fresh, captivating characters. It is an addictive, must-read ghost story that proves why this series remains a staple for those who crave mystery mixed with supernatural intrigue.

Complicated yet totally tied together plotline and some new characters - excellent addition to the series

October 19, 2017

Very happy we are back to the strong Charlie we all know and love. Her relationship with Lincoln gets more and more interesting; many didn’t like the way the last book ended, but with the novella and this book revealing all the background, I think the author has made a very strong comeback. We get to see deeper into the complicated yet totally tied together plot line, and she develops all the threads into a well-written tapestry. The introduction of a couple new characters is welcome, and they...

Satisfied (no spoilers)

I am pretty addicted to this series... read all six so far in a week while on summer break. I was satisfied with book 6, \"From the Ashes\". I think that overall, the series has taken me on a bit of a rollercoaster. Sometimes I'm on the edge of my seat, excited for what is yet to come. But sometimes the interactions between Charlie and Lincoln are drawn out and repetitious. Quite torturous, and not in a good way. That being said, I enjoyed this installment of the series. I think that there were...

I can’t get enough. I normally wait to get my books at the library, but after reading one of these, I had to order them all. there isn’t a bunch of sappy romance and making out, it’s just a collection of amazing characters, intriguing mysteries and villains you love to hate. )

A great Historical/Fantasy series

I have never left a review before but felt i needed to this time. I got the first book in the series free and I'm so glad i gave it a go and read it. I then went on to buy the rest and I love this series. The characters have depth, they are realistic and many times i chuckled at their interactions. It was good to see how they developed over the books, they weren't stagnant like some characters can be but grew over the series. I especially loved the historical element in the books and having...

Absolutely fantastic, lived up to all expectations

I've been anticipating this book for a very long time and am thrilled to say that it lived up to all expectations. As the murder mystery drew itself to new heights I really liked how there was ample character development without sacrificing the plot. Lady Vickers' indomitable spirit was a wonderful addition to the story, and I liked how we got more insight into the background of committee members. (All the Alice in Wonderland references were brilliant too). Lastly, I felt that Lincoln and...
