Grace Rivera is a woman of logic and cold, hard facts. As a dedicated crime scene investigator, she has no room in her life for the supernatural—until she encounters the spectral presence of Captain James Riordan. Hanging for a crime he didn't commit on July 4th, 1789, the roguish pirate has spent centuries haunting the streets of Harrisonburg, Virginia, waiting for someone to finally look his way. Grace is the first person in history who can see him, and their meeting sparks an unlikely, electrifying connection that defies the laws of nature.
This captivating paranormal romance seamlessly blends urban fantasy with historical intrigue. As Grace and Jamie team up to clear his name, they are thrust into a high-stakes adventure involving time-traveling forensics and a deadly hunt for a killer. It is a brilliant collision of worlds where modern science meets eighteenth-century charm, creating a page-turning mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end.
For readers who crave a story with heart, humor, and a swoon-worthy hero, this standalone novel is a must-read. The dynamic chemistry between the skeptical investigator and the charming ghost makes for an unforgettable journey. If you enjoy atmospheric, magical romances filled with action and a guaranteed happily ever after, prepare to fall hard for Jamie and Grace.

This book had it all. Ghosts, mystery, romance, action adventure and time travel. I couldn’t put it down. Well written engaging characters you’ll root for throughout the entire tale. Grace a forensic scientist travels back in time to solve three murders history says committed by a ghost she just met whom he says can’t move on until his name is cleared, or can he? )

This book was soooo wonderful. I’m in love with Jamie. IN. LOVE. Kyaaaaa! *Japanese fangirl moment over here* This book really made me realize how much I love all of these tropes and how little I see them in books. 1) Time Travel. And I’m not talking about the sci-fi type of time travel, but the magical one created by magic, when the protagonist can travel through time. 2) Pirates as love interests because… PIRATES AS LOVE INTERESTS. Just pirates in general though, thank you. I wanna see more...

I really liked this book. The characters in the book are both funny and lovely. If you like time travel stories, this is definitely something for you. Easy to read and well written. One of my favorites. Not too much spice. I would say it is a \"light\" crime/thriller love story. )

The story itself had a very interesting premise so I read it all the way through. But the writing is not my cup of tea. Very cheesy and the spicy scenes were especially not great. Overall it's good if you're looking for a general love story to fill up some time, but it's nothing amazing. ) 2 people found this helpful

Yeah this was a dang good time. I laughed at parts, like great uncle Recompense going to help the serfs in the Crusades, and Loyal knowing about Microsoft stocks. Extremely funny. I was freaking out most of the time, and there was a small amount of angst and tragedy to give me some deep pondering about how the lovebirds would free themselves from the situation at hand. They have my heart, I’ll probably read this multiple times over just to freak out multiple times each read. This had me...
