Claire Raythorn arrives in Florence seeking a fresh start, far away from the complexities of romance. She expects to find only art, history, and solitude. Instead, she discovers something impossible: a mysterious, nineteenth-century gentleman appearing in her digital photographs. He is not just a glitch or a trick of the light; he is a haunting presence that refuses to be ignored, pulling her into a mystery that spans two centuries.
Dante D’Angelo is bound by a fractured family curse that has haunted his lineage for generations. When Claire enters his world, she becomes the first person to remain untouched by the shadows that define his existence. As their lives collide across time, the boundaries between the living and the dead begin to dissolve. Dante must protect his brothers while unraveling the truth about his own spectral reality, all while fighting for a future with the one woman who makes him feel alive.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully weaves together a lush Italian setting with a slow-burn, reverse-harem dynamic. If you crave a story that blends historical intrigue with spine-tingling ghostly encounters, this is your next obsession. Prepare to be swept away by a love story two hundred years in the making.

I read book two of the series first. It was called Love's Shadow. I so love the story. I got this book for free on Kindle. I can't remember how. Maybe, I got an email that this book was on sale or whatever. Long story short, I got this for nada. For those who don't know, I am a sucker for stories with history thrown into the mix. That's why I love the books of Clive Cussler, Steve Berry and Dan Brown. I love stories that weave connections between the long dead past and the present. How the...

It is hard for me to resist Nichole Van after reading her House of Oak series. However, I was a little skeptical of this new series because it isn't my usual fare. I love historical/time travel fiction, especially when set in Regency Era England. Italy is great, but I prefer my Bristish stories. It mostly takes place in modern day with a few visits to the past through \"regressions.\" Since I also like some fantasy, I was OK with the paranormal talents of Dante and his brothers, but I was...

Nichole Van is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She writes intelligent, well-crafted stories that keep you turning the pages until you’ve consumed every word of her work. This book takes place in Florence, Italy and the author’s vivid descriptions make you feel as though you are physically there. She writes about star-crossed lovers, an ancient curse and past lives and reincarnation in a way that imbues her story with suspense, intrigue, romance, witty repartee and plot twists that you...

This book held me captive for far too long. I just couldn’t seem to put it down. The mystery and history interwoven throughout combined with a swoony-yet-clean romance grabbed my attention and I just had to know what would happen next. I loved the two main characters, Dante and Claire. Each chapter lets you know whether you’ll be reading the first person perspective of either character, and I loved seeing the story unfold this way. I also loved the rich history in both the city of Florence, as...

First off, this review is by Samantha Kennicott, not Brad. I'm sure my husband would want me to clarify that he doesn't read romance novels, nor does he take the time to write gushing reviews about them. :) Now that that's out of the way.....What I loved most about this book is that so many of the twists and turns in the plot were so unexpected to me. I LOVE when a book can genuinely surprise me, and this one did just that. I devoured it in 2 days while on vacation and enjoyed every minute of...
