by Katherine Lange
Seeking a sanctuary from a life recently shattered, Lucie Muire retreats to the windswept beauty of Greystone Cottage with her two children. She hopes for a fresh start, but she quickly discovers she is not the only resident. The stubborn, spectral spirit of Captain Edward Greig still patrols the halls, tethered to the home he refuses to abandon. What begins as a tense standoff between the living and the dead soon deepens into an unexpected, profound connection that defies the laws of nature.
This atmospheric paranormal romance breathes new life into the classic tale of a ghost and a mortal. As the threat of losing her children to her late husband’s family looms, Lucie finds an unlikely ally in the captain. Their partnership is a masterclass in second-chance romance, blending quiet defiance with the ache of a love that shouldn't exist. It is a story about staking a claim on your own future, even when the past refuses to stay buried.
Katherine Lange delivers a haunting, emotionally resonant narrative that prioritizes character depth over traditional tropes. If you are looking for a story that balances ethereal mystery with a grounded, heartfelt journey toward healing, this is your next obsession.

Katherine Lange has created a world of hope and magic and love that...

The book presents a thorough look into the heroine 's emotional background and makes her more the center of the story. The slapstick created by the Claymore character has been removed and pieces of the book, movie and TV show are well blended into a sensible whole. ) 2 people found this helpful
