Jackson Dawson appears to have it all: a thriving career as a novelist and a loving home. Yet, his life is defined by a lingering, hollow ache—the mystery of his own origins. When a cryptic package arrives containing long-buried secrets, Jackson abandons his manuscript to chase the truth. His journey leads him to the atmospheric town of Catori Grove and the sprawling, shadowed estate of Mason’s Lake, where the past refuses to stay silent.
In this captivating ghost story, Jackson finds himself aided by two enigmatic spirits. These spectral guides become his unconventional allies, offering cryptic clues that bridge the gap between the living and the dead. As he peels back the layers of his lineage, he realizes that uncovering his true identity requires more than research; it demands a leap of faith into the unknown.
This heartfelt tale masterfully weaves paranormal intrigue with the warmth of found-family tropes. As Jackson navigates the haunting beauty of the lake, he discovers that bloodlines are not the only things that bind us. Perfect for readers who enjoy clean, small-town suspense, this story proves that sometimes the most important connections are formed in the most unexpected ways—even from beyond the veil.

Mason’s Lake is a clean, easy-to-read romantic suspense set in a small-town atmosphere. The story moves at a comfortable pace and the emotional thread between the characters is clear and accessible, making it a quick and relaxing read. For me personally, the plot felt fairly straightforward and I was able to anticipate the major twist early on. At times the conflict seemed like it could have been resolved with more open communication, and there was some repetition that slowed the tension a bit....

The depth of the side characters, combined with Jackson’s personal discoveries, made the novel difficult to put down. As Jackson searched for answers about his past, I...

Cheri Quirk uses good, old fashioned storytelling to introduce her readers to believable characters and beautiful, well thought out settings. The plot is multilayered with some drama, romance, mystery, and a more than enough excitement to keep me turning the pages. As an...
