Yuri Sokolov has spent his entire life mastering the art of ignoring the dead. Born with the unique ability to see spirits, he knows that engaging with the restless souls haunting his world only leads to trouble. That is, until he encounters Cat Seddon. She is not like the other wandering specters; she is vibrant, hauntingly beautiful, and inexplicably tethered to his home. What begins as a cautious observation quickly spirals into an all-consuming obsession, as Yuri finds himself falling for a woman who exists entirely beyond his reach.
This atmospheric paranormal romance masterfully explores the boundaries between life and the afterlife. As a standout novella within the beloved Immortal Guardians series, it weaves a tender, star-crossed love story that defies the laws of nature. The chemistry between a man grounded in the physical world and a woman trapped in the ethereal is both poignant and exhilarating, challenging the reader to believe that love can indeed transcend even the finality of death.
If you are craving a unique twist on the supernatural genre, this emotional journey is a must-read. With its blend of longing, mystery, and a surprising resolution that redefines the classic happily-ever-after, it offers a hauntingly beautiful escape that lingers long after the final page.

Can a love between two people in different realms exist? Can it find a way to surpass the odds and the difficulties and still bloom?? Those are the questions that Yuri and Cat need the answers to, and Dianne Duvall definitely delivers in this beautiful and bittersweet story!!! ‘So, ” Marcus spoke after a pause, “have you found it yet?“ “Found what?” Yuri asked absently, his mind a maelstrom. “The catch, the downside to speaking to her” Yuri responded with a slow nod. “What is it?” Marcus asked...

Yuri is the protagonist in this novella set in the Immortal Guardians series. He meets a ghost, Catherine, and slowly is drawn to her. Sounds simple, but there is a nice twist to the whole HEA thing. The book primarily focuses on the love story, however it continues with the over-arching story of the Guardians fighting evil vampires and evil vampire puppet masters. All to keep humanity safe. As I have come to expect from Ms. Duvall, the characters (even in a novella) are well-thought out,...

This story had a rather unique storyline for a love story. It is part of a series, which I think made it that much more satisfying for me. I loved getting to know Yuri, who has only been mentioned briefly in passing in other stories. Cat is a character who we also only hear mentioned in passing, mostly regarding her tragic death and her black sheep sibling. It was an absolute pleasure to get to know her as well. The storyline was rather simple, yet rather magical in its own right. The love and...

This was a rather interesting read. It stands alone fairly well. It’s written wonderfully to catch the reader up if they’ve not read previous books or may have forgotten anything relevant. I love that Cat was brought back after learning of her terrible demise in book 1. Throughout the series, Stanislov and Yuri have been around, but we have not really gotten to know them much as they’ve merely been supportive roles. Now we get to know them a bit better, Yuri in particular (obviously). I have...

As always we have another amazing story.. I did not read this read this book in the recommended order, I've read the other stories at least 3 times each bit must've overlooked this one so it was the first time over read this. I really do not know how to feel about this book.. It was just such a sad situation. I do wish it was longer so Yuri could have interacted with Marcus or Seth at least, and we could catch a little glimpse of life after death and whatnot.. It was nice to get to know Yuri,...
