Briggs Williams finally found peace in the enchanted town of Keating Hollow, where the mystical atmosphere keeps his volatile magic in check. That serenity shatters when a ghost from his past—his ex-flame—suddenly reappears, sending his powers spiraling into a dangerous, uncontained frenzy. Desperate to regain control, he turns to the one woman he knows he should avoid: Melissa Benson.
Melissa is tired of settling for emotionally unavailable men and has officially sworn off the charming but non-committal Briggs. Yet, when he begs her to play the role of his fake fiancée to ward off his ex, she finds herself unable to say no. What begins as a convenient ruse quickly complicates their lives, especially when Melissa discovers a dormant, earth-shaking magic of her own.
This installment in the beloved Keating Hollow series is a masterclass in the fake dating trope, blending paranormal romance with high-stakes tension. As their charade deepens, Melissa realizes that staying by Briggs’s side is the only way to protect the town from his unraveling power. For readers seeking a cozy, magical escape filled with chemistry and unexpected revelations, this story is the perfect homecoming. Will the lines between pretend and reality blur before it is too late?

I adore Keating Hollow even before I moved 17 miles south of EurekAlert which is always reference in this series. The characters are descriptive enough that I can visualize them and not to mention main street and other areas in town. This story was so cool as I do not remember the main characters from earlier books. So that made it even more fun to read. This series is excellent and so was this book. )

This series is simply sweet. I always enjoy taking a break from life to enter into Keating Hallow and the lives of those who live there. I love how the characters are so woven together throughout all of the stories and the town. ) One person found this helpful
