Eldrith Manor

by Stephanie B. Whitfield
Olivia Devos has spent seven years trapped in a marriage defined by cruelty and broken bones, a transactional nightmare that stripped away everything but her instinct to survive. When a chance encounter at a Christmas ball brings her into the orbit of Cooper Brimington, she finds herself drawn to a man as dangerous as he is enigmatic. Cooper is a nobleman cloaked in shadow, the master of an estate rumored to be built upon a foundation of vengeful spirits and buried secrets.
This atmospheric gothic romance masterfully blends historical tension with the chilling presence of the supernatural. As Olivia steps into Cooper’s crumbling manor, she discovers that his demons are just as real as the ghosts stalking the corridors. It is an intense, haunting exploration of two broken souls attempting to find salvation amidst a landscape of madness and murder. The story leans heavily into the haunted romance trope, where love is not a gentle grace but a desperate, bloody necessity.
Perfect for readers who enjoy the macabre elegance of Poe, this tale waltzes through darkness to deliver a gripping, emotional punch. If you are looking for a paranormal romance that refuses to play it safe, this is your next obsession.

This gothic romance doesn’t just flirt with darkness—it waltzes with it through shadowed corridors. Olivia Devos is not your typical heroine. She’s a survivor, forged in cruelty and bound by a marriage that feels more like a curse than a vow. Her pain is palpable, her resilience fierce. When she meets Cooper Brimington—a nobleman cloaked in mystery—their connection is less a spark and more a slow-burning flame. Cooper’s estate is a character in itself: a decaying mansion steeped in ghost...

3.5 stars Olivia is married to a monster, not a literal monster, but a man that is awful, violent, and not faithful. For years she's endured his abuse until one day she makes the decision to make a small act of defiance. This leads to her meeting Cooper. Rumors surround this naturally reclusive man as well as the home that he lives in. This is a story about a woman enduring and being strong. It's about learning what love should be. It's emotional and difficult... there are scenes of domestic...

Very well written story that was so intriguing and such an awesome story. I loved the depth and description of this. It’s the type that keeps you reading wanting to find it what is going to happen to Olivia in the end. I was glad that she found Cooper. I really enjoyed this one a lot. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. )

This was a great read! Perfect Gothic romance akeen to Edgar Allen Poe. I'll be honest I wasn't sure what century this was set in because it gave Victorian vibes but had cell phones. I loved Olivia and Cooper's story of love from brokenness. Can't wait to read the other books in the series. )

There was no putting it down, no matter what, it needed to be read. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for the story, has interesting characters that you want to know and a story that does not disappoint. This book needs to be read, no doubt about it. ) One person found this helpful
