The Lost Diary Of Count Von Cosel

by Carl Von Cosel

About this book

Deep in the sun-drenched, humid atmosphere of 1930s Key West, an unthinkable devotion took root. Carl von Cosel, a man haunted by visions and ancestral whispers, became consumed by an impossible desire for his dying patient, Elena Hoyos. When tuberculosis claimed her life, most would have walked away, but the Count believed their connection was written in the stars, tethering their souls together long after her heart stopped beating.

This chilling memoir invites you into the darkest corners of a haunted romance that defies the traditional boundaries of mortality. Part historical anomaly and part gothic nightmare, the narrative explores the disturbing lengths to which a man will go to preserve a forbidden love. As you flip through these pages, you are not merely reading about a grave-robbing obsession; you are witnessing a desperate, spectral courtship that bridges the gap between the living and the dead.

For fans of paranormal fiction who crave a dark, psychological edge, this account is a must-read. It is a modern-day Frankenstein tale where science meets the supernatural, leaving the reader to question where true devotion ends and madness begins. Prepare to be unnerved by a story that proves some loves never truly rest in peace.

Modern day Frankenstein

March 31, 2021

A great read about a modern day Frankenstein kind of love. Von Cosel was a man who fell in love with a young girl. She had tuberculosis and he tried in vain to save her life. He was unable to and sadly she died. After she had been buried for a short time he secretly exhumed her body and tried to preserve her. He lived with her body seven years before someone found out. This is his account of this 'love story' and his 'undying love.' ) 4 people found this helpful

I am a Key West local and have to say I love the story of the creepy count and his undead bride. I'm always eager to learn more and was pleased to find this book on here. The book arrived quickly and the wrapping it came in protected it well from the rain we had been having! ) 7 people found this helpful

Great Book!

Such a interesting view on a seemingly demented event. Although his madness is apparent, it’s easy to get lost on the romanticism of the the story. Highly recommend! ) 2 people found this helpful

I love reading about mysterious and weird things but I found ...

I love reading about mysterious and weird things but I found this book - The \"Count\" particularly more disturbing and mysterious - or weird! Some people call it a story of true love - I find it more of a story of twisted obsession. [spoiler alert] Keeping the body with him for 7 years - feeding it - trying to keep it some what 'alive' - sleeping next to it - kissing it......YUCK! I'm sorry, for me it was just kind of . . . well, sick. I first heard about the story from an interview I listened...
