Ariana Nightley has always felt like an outsider, her empathic abilities making the world an overwhelming place. Seeking solace, she retreats to her grandmother’s quiet Canadian prairie farm, only to discover that she is not alone. The nearby abandoned farmhouse is alive with the restless spirits of five generations of women, their tragic histories seeping through the floorboards and into her mind. As she begins to unravel their secrets, she realizes the house is a keeper of dark, historical mysteries that refuse to stay buried.
Amidst the haunting, Ariana finds an unexpected anchor in Ryan, a rugged local rancher. Their connection blossoms into a tender second-chance romance, offering her the stability she has always craved. However, her focus is pulled away by a mysterious stranger who claims to be linked to the house’s sorrowful past. Drawn in by his promises of answers, Ariana soon realizes she has walked into a trap set by a calculated sociopath.
Blending spine-tingling paranormal suspense with a gripping dark romance, this story weaves a tapestry of found-family warmth and chilling danger. Will Ariana survive the malevolent forces closing in around her, or will she become just another whisper trapped within the walls?

I loved, loved, loved this tale of a woman so consumed by the ghosts ensconced in the farmhouse down the road from her grandmother’s place. It was great to find out the ghosts’ past from conversations they held in the woman’s mind. I won't tell you more. Instead, read and enjoy it on your own. I thought the book was well-written and absolutely enjoyable. )

I love the sweet and tender way the author brought the Main Character female together with her aging grandmother and how she incorporated the girl’s sensitivity to spirit into the story. They were enjoyable, relatable characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the telling of the historical back story! Will look for more from this author. )

This was an interesting tale of a house haunted by secrets, and the woman who can hear voices, and experience the spirits' joys and struggles. I can't say I believe in the paranormal, but it's certainly possible they exist. I found it a bit confusing at times to determine which part of the writing in italics was the spirits speaking, and which belonged to the character's experiences. Otherwise, the book was well-written and enjoyable. ) One person found this helpful

At 1st I was unsure if going from the future to the past on these women was something I could sink my mind into following along. But once I got into it, I couldn't put it down!! It had just enough paranormal with suspense & mystery tied into it. U really felt a connection with the women from \"The House.\" Would highly recommend it, great read!! )
